OK Črnuče
Volleyball has been anchored in Črnuče for several decades. The result of many years of work is that today we have a club with a large number of children and young boys, of whom 142 were registered with the national branch association in 2018. All of these boys regularly train and compete under the watchful eye of their coaches and at the same time achieve encouraging results in all age categories.
Problem
Considering how successful the club became, especially after partnering with the top volleyball team ACH, it needed a strong symbol and visual identity to match its status. Inspired by the bold and iconic style of NBA team logos, I aimed to create a visual language in a similar direction. Since the symbol of Ljubljana, where the club is based, is a dragon, it was chosen as the central emblem of the club’s identity.
Solution
Since the symbol of Ljubljana, where the club is based, is a dragon, it was chosen as the central emblem of the club’s identity. The official colors of the club are red, white, and black. These colors are used throughout the visual identity, and the logo is designed to work effectively on all three backgrounds. It can be applied in full color, in a two-color version, or as a single-color mark for simpler applications such as embroidery or fabric printing. The dragon is depicted fiercely protecting the volleyball, breathing fire at anything that tries to take it. The ball thrives in Črnuče and it belongs there.
